Who Da Man?

It was a cool crisp night yesterday heading up to the mall to return my defective coffee maker when in the night sky we see what appeared to be a UFO. Well sort of. It hovered over the Mission Viejo Mall at 7:33 pm , according to my phone logs. It was really beautiful. My wife did not take photos but their were a lot of people that pulled over to see the beautiful flashing disc in the sky.

This morning, doing research on this event, I came across an OC Register article on the man responsible for this event most likely. Since he lives in Irvine, which is only 15 minutes away, it was most likely his model airplane. It was awesome to see. Anyway, here is a photo from the OC Register and the article of him.

Remote VoIP Phone. I finally got it to work. See the How-To story on making a remote VoIP phone work through a VPN software program while using a second NIC card.

Drink, Drink, Drink. That is what I did after the worst video conference attempt with Marc Norton the lead developer of SNORT. The whole damn thing went wrong. Luckily I did have a plan "D" which was to solder a headset to a cell phone. That worked but after more than three hours of Lei, Bartender and myself trying to get a connection to work properly on Windows XP, it still did not work out the way we wanted. Phew!

Well I live and learn. Hopefully IVU can get a Mac Mini to ship to our next few speakers so that it will work perfectly. Don't hold your breath.

There was one bright moment in the meeting for me. Steve Gibson from GRC.COM came to an actual meeting. That was great. I knew hist company was located in South O.C. and want to always invite him to a meet. That was important for me. It was a way to make or group worth a little more. I am not sure what my goal is with the group but will continue with the momentum and see what happens next.
