IT'S HOT!!!!

This is the hottest I've ever felt in DaHouse. Luckily when I did build the garage, I did install A/C. Phew. So, I am here typingaway at a cool 77 degrees. Outside it has hit 110. The photo below shows a little less but trust me, it already hit 110.

Drink, Drink, Drink. That is what I did after the worst video conference attempt with Marc Norton the lead developer of SNORT. The whole damn thing went wrong. Luckily I did have a plan "D" which was to solder a headset to a cell phone. That worked but after more than three hours of Lei, Bartender and myself trying to get a connection to work properly on Windows XP, it still did not work out the way we wanted. Phew!
Well I live and learn. Hopefully IVU can get a Mac Mini to ship to our next few speakers so that it will work perfectly. Don't hold your breath.
There was one bright moment in the meeting for me. Steve Gibson from GRC.COM came to an actual meeting. That was great. I knew hist company was located in South O.C. and want to always invite him to a meet. That was important for me. It was a way to make or group worth a little more. I am not sure what my goal is with the group but will continue with the momentum and see what happens next. |

Well it has been asked for over and over and now I finally got around to it. I've posted my unfinished work on the IVU Mac Widget. If anyone wants to complete it so that it works, that would be great. If not, then it will just sit there. Come up with ideas and let me know. Send me the updates and I will post on the IVU website.

What a wonderful time we had. It came together just perfect. I was glad to see a great showing of IVU members to the first IVU Shoot 0.0.1 at Firing-Line in Hunting Beach, CA. Thank you Tacitus and Bartender for the contributing photos. We will do another shoot next year around March, April 2006. Also, thanks to Jim Bowen, a great weapons instructor!

IVU Shoot
Here it comes. The first IVU shoot organized by Da Man. Beginners and Experts are welcome. Here are the plans for the shoot.
If you are a beginner and want to take the class, please email me ( daman -at- who--da--man.com ) so I can get a head count. You will have to be at the shooting range (details below) at 8:30 am to 8:45 am to get a seat as we may be a large group.

BEGINNERS
For people that want to get their certifcation, we will meet at 8:45am. The cost is $50 for the class, plus gun and ammo turn out to be about $65. It is a three hour course. (They supply the guns and ammo). You do get a certifcate of completion.
EXPERTS
For people that already know how to shoot, the doors open at 10am. The cost is $18 for the first person, $9 for the second person on the same line.
You can bring your own gun but they check the ammo before they let you in.
NOTE: SHOW UP HUNGRY AS WE WILL GO TO WINGNUTS AFTER THE SHOOT FOR CHICKEN AND BEER.

Freaky had asked if he can go shooting with me after the IVU meet on Saturday so he could get his certification. I said no problem, come on down. Bartender, Freaky, DaWife, DaLittleman and DaNephew went to Firing-Line located in Huntington Beach. Here is the video of Freaky getting his training.
(NOTE: These people are the best for training, beginners as well as families. They took great care with DaLittleman, Age 9 and DaWife, Age Unknown treating them with respect no matter the age.)
